dr.ron at SxSWI met with Jim Young Co-Founder of Jambo at SXSW Austin, Texas. The SXSW INTERACTIVE FESTIVAL brings together uber-geeks, tech entrepreneurs, and digital innovators from around the world. Now in its thirteenth year, this is the event where the web’s most creative minds share their ideas about how interactive technology will shape our future.

Jambo uses wi-fi, pda, bluetooth, mobile phone technologies, etc to offer:

  • the ability to find members of your group nearby
  • remember names of anyone you’ve ever met
  • link to your online profiles (linkedin, myspace, etc.)
  • broadcast a message to people around you

Integrating with local web sites in Michigan

Jambo offers features that I have been thinking about for well over a decade. So I was really excited to see that somone has released a product with these features. I am really looking forward to incorporating these technologies into upcoming Network Downtown, Detroit by Design, Democracy for Washtenaw, Ann Arbor IT Zone and many other events that I work with in Michigan.
