EyespotI met with David Dudas, the CTO of eyespot while at SXSW. Their web application enables you to mix video submitted from mobile phones. Imagine multiple people with video phones in hand distributed around a single large public event or imagine them simultaneously submitting video from multiple venues simultaneously. Someone using a notebook computer with web access (e.g. wi-fi) in an Internet Cafe, could then mix those clips from different sources in seconds and share them over the web with everyone. From political rallies to concerts with multiple stages, citizen journalists can provide video feeds that get mixed and served up in real time. Last year the folks here at MediaRica and I did Podcast Previews to help give people auditory navigation tools to find their way around the 30 or so after parties every night. Now we can add video from live events! We’ll also be looking to create mashups in public facing sites we’ll be unveiling soon.

And, my Michigan readers may be interested in knowing that David is from Detroit.
